Fees / Aid / Housing for UIUC Students:

Tuition and Fees:

Every effort was made toward structuring students' expenses similar to those of students still on campus at UIUC. Except for the $350 up-front deposit, tuition costs (which will be exactly the same as if you were on campus) will appear on your student account at the beginning of the semester. Housing fees will be billed all at once to your student account mid-semester while you are in Washington D.C. Students in Washington will experience slightly higher costs for meals, and will have minimal day-to-day transportation expenses. Students must also make their own arrangements for airfare to/from Washington D.C. at the start and end of the semester.

Financial Aid:

As a UIUC program, financial aid is available through the Office of Student Financial Aid (OSFA). Comparable to studying abroad, students must have a current FAFSA form on file with OSFA and must submit a revised Cost of Attendance budget to the OSFA. This information is important for determining the amount of aid you are eligible to receive. Once accepted to the Illinois at the Phillips, we will aid you in submitting your revised budget.

Housing:

Group housing is available for all Illinois at The Phillips program students, but graduate students have the option to independently secure their own housing. All program-sponsored apartment units will be conveniently located relative to The Phillips Collection and will be shared by two or three UIUC students of the same gender. Each apartment will have a kitchen, dining and living areas, and will come with all necessary furnishings, appliances, and kitchen utensils. All utility expenses (electricity, water, internet, basic cable TV, trash pickup) are included in the single housing fee.
