
The Phillips Collection, Washington, DC, through its Center for the Study of Modern Art, in collaboration with the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, announces two new full-time post-doctoral fellowships at the Phillips for the 2009-2010 academic year with a start date of August 16, 2009.The fellowships will support research on topics in American or European art from 1880 to the present, including photography. Preference will be given to projects that focus on subjects related to the scope of the Phillips Collection’s areas of collecting.
Each fellowship carries a stipend of $30,000 per semester, with a duration of one or two semesters. Recent Ph.D.s who are not yet tenured are encouraged to apply. Fellows will be expected to present a seminar or colloquium at the museum on their field of research during the fellowship period.
HOW TO ENTER: Entries must include a cover letter; CV; two letters of
recommendation; and a one-page abstract of their topic and proposed plan for research.
